Dear Supporters,

A statement has just been released by the Maldives Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture dated the 20th April 2021. 

In this statement, the MOF have just confirmed that the ban on commercial shark fishing in the Maldives WILL NOT now be lifted.

This is fantastic news as I’m sure you will all agree !

I would just like to convey my personal and sincerest thanks to you all for supporting this petition. Without your voice being heard, the outcome may have been different.  

It remains for us all to continue to enjoy the wonderful marine life and eco system the Maldives offers.  I
