Thank you so much for your support. As an alumnus of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ayodhya, it’s so heartbreaking to look back and witness how the school that set me up for success, is crumbling. No one paid attention for so long! With your help, the authorities will take notice and rectify this situation.

My batchmates and I are trying with all our might to make sure that the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti pays heed to our demand of building a new and well-equipped hostel for the students. Meanwhile, you can watch the video that I have attached to this update. I take you through the dilapidated condition of the old hostel, as well as another building where some students are having to stay because of the lack of a proper hostel.

This school is the only one in the district that will ensure that children from marginalised backgrounds can access quality education at subsidised costs. Since JNVs were started with the premise of being residential schools, we must work fast to ensure that the construction of a new hostel starts as soon as possible. Even then, it will take some time to complete. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has already reduced the student intake this academic session from 80 to 40. We can’t let our students’ education suffer like this.
