With the sale of this parcel of property, the request continues to the City of Highland to not allow this property to turn commercial.
The updated Highland General Plan – with open public hearing and potential final recommendation on October 28th – doesn't yet show this sold property as belonging to the Highland Mains effort. Once the sale is final, the request is that this parcel not be absorbed into the Highland Mains effort as a Commercially zoned area.
Again, the signers of this petition ask the members of the City Council to listen to the 325+ people who are pleading not to make this area commercial. This petition has been in place throughout the Planning Commission review process of the General Plan. It is clear that the community request here is to not allow this parcel to be zoned commercial. The General Plan does not show it as part of the Highland Mains effort, as the sale is not final.
When the sale is final, Please do not accept the adoption of this newly sold parcel into the Highland Mains Commercial effort. The map is shown on Page 18 here of the proposed general plan: https://www.highlandut.gov/DocumentCenter/View/9411/DRAFT---PC-Review-Highland-General-Plan-Update---09182025
When the parcel just north of the Highland Mains development is sold to the same owner developing Highland Mains, do not change the zoning!
