Petition updateDon’t exploit people with life-threatening illnessesHuge news, press conference with Premier, WIN!

This feels unreal to announce. I’ve just this minute stepped out of a press conference with the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and the Health Minister. Together, we’ve just made a huge announcement. There will be an overhaul of hospital car parking fees to stop sick patients being ripped off. It’s all thanks to this petition and your signatures! Effect from this July, there will be statewide concessions that will fix the problem so that families visiting sick relatives will no longer be faced with the added financial stress of paying exploitative parking fees. The Government has already started negotiations with carpark operators to make sure this new pricing is much fairer. I still can’t believe that me, a 14 year old school kid, would end up standing next to the Premier announcing a policy change that I drove. They wouldn’t have listened to my lone voice, but with 70,000 signers by my side, we forced them to act. I was so excited before the press conference, I recorded this message for you before I went in - please watch and share this incredible news: https://www.facebook.com/Change.orgAustralia/videos/1564299600276755/ This win wasn’t just for me it’s for all of the sick patients in NSW and their families - thank you on behalf of them too. Unfortunately these changes are only in NSW - for now. I would like to challenge the Premiers and Health Ministers of all other states to step up, follow NSW's lead, listen to their people and fix this issue. Gidon
