Whereas - Indiana passed presumptive disability bill for Firefighters with Parkinson’s in 2012.

Whereas - Genetic vulnerability and toxic exposure are mutually inclusive regarding Parkinson’s disease. That is to say, both genetic disposition and exposure to toxins is required in order to acquire Parkinson’s disease.

Whereas - The human body can take in toxins through a variety of routes including absorption, ingestion and inhalation.

Whereas - Firefighters everywhere come in contact with any number and kind of toxin in existence while fighting fires.

Resolve - This leads to a presumptive conclusion that firefighters can acquire Parkinson’s disease as a result of performing their duties, known to the state of Massachusetts regarding heart disease, lung disease and cancer as - Mass General Law Part I, Title IV, Chapter 32, Section 94, 94A, 94B - Disability by presumption.

Resolve - Bills S1542, S1546 and H2378 - An Act relative to Parkinson's disease disability and death in firefighters- be passed into law in the state of Massachusetts as Section 94C.
