Greetings to all,
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything about the bill, but now the legislators are back in session so I’m back too. I hope everyone had a very joyful and fulling holiday season.
We are in the second half of the legislative session and the end will be here before we know it, then it’s back to square one to refile the bill if it doesn’t go through this time. So now we need a HUGE push to get the bill out of committee and onto the floor for a vote.
I am changing tactics a little bit. This time I’m leaning on the Speaker of the House to get the bill onto the floor for a vote. I need hundreds of calls AND emails going to Speaker Robert A. DeLeo ( https://malegislature.gov/Legislators/Profile/RAD1 ) asking him to move H. 1455 An Act relative to Parkinson's disease disability and death in firefighters through process. We will need everyone to put full effort into this. That means all of you blasting emails to all your contacts, especially if you have access to firefighters and/or the Parkinson’s community. In order to make the most “noise” lets concentrate our efforts within a specific time frame. Make those calls and send those emails next week 1/15-1/19.
This is a very important and impactful bill for those firefighter suffering now and in the future from exposure to so many toxins we put in this world. The awareness it creates will bring preventative measures about and open doors for more states to follow suit.
Thank you all for all your support and God bless!
Greg Heath
