Thank you to everyone who signed our petition to City Leaders urging them to reconsider voting to criminalize houselessness in Des Moines by fining folks for needing a place to sleep. This petition (signed by 2,547 people!!!!) will be read and presented at the city council meeting tonight. The third vote has already been pushed back to the September 16th meeting, but we won't stop putting pressure on them. Please keep calling, keep emailing, and keep donating to local mutual aid organizations + community fridges to care for our unhoused neighbors.
