Dear fellow campaigners for accountability, Today I declare victory on our "100 Days" petition. The first batch of defendants in PDAF scams, specifically the P10-billion Janet Napoles scam, are now facing plunder charges. The senators involved have been suspended from the Senate. Most of the people involved in the Napoles scam are also now detained. It was a huge challenge. But you and 6,471 other users persisted in calling for accountability. We all campaigned hard to prevent the delay of proceedings into the plunder and graft charges. Online and on-ground, we persevered in the campaign. We even held a protest at the Office of the Ombudsman. http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/338659/news/nation/anti-pork-group-pickets-ombudsman-to-protest-slow-pace-of-probe While not everyone involved in the abuse of pork has been charged, especially where other scams are concerned, the developments in the Napoles scandal represent big steps. We have our victory. It is by no less complete. We have a long road ahead of us. It is now up to us, citizens, to exercise vigilance and step up the call for other abusers of pork to be brought to justice. Maraming salamat! Peachy
