The longer we wait, the more time corrupt charity organizations, politicans, and profiteers have to cover their paper trail. We need to mobilize to make sure justice is swift, and those who are suffering get every last penny they need in to rebuild. 

If you would like to donate, please do so DIRECTLY TO FAMILIES. It is important we limit the amount of damage these people can do. Make sure you do your own research and are sending money through a legitimate pipeline. There are many fake GoFundMe accounts trying to poach your donations. Reach out to people personally and let them know you are willing to help. Coming from someone who has been shown so much generosity, I will tell you, it truly means the world to know that others care. 

I am a resident of Altadena. I drove around town today and the scope of the destruction is unbelievable. Debris thrown by the wind lines the streets, smoldering rubble fills the air with a pungent toxic odor, and an intense overwhelming feeling of loss echos across the valley floor. I cry for my neighbors everyday, feeling an indescribable guilt that my house was miraculously spared, being that just 100 yards to the north, east, and west, dozens upon dozens of houses—entire neighborhoods—have been reduced to chimneys and ash. It's not fair. None of this is fair, and the idea of the LA super elite taking advantage of this horrific tragedy is absolutely disgusting. But we all know they will. With millions, possibly billions of dollars pouring in from all over the country, those in power will seize the opportunity to line their pockets at the expense of my community's well being. We CANNOT let this happen. We must fight to serve justice for our people. People like us. Regular working class heros that are the foundation of what makes Los Angeles the most beautiful, diverse, and desirable place to live in the entire world. A place where dreams are realized and love is as plentiful as the air we breathe.

So please, share this petition any way you can. When we come together, there is nothing we can't accomplish. Ethnic background, political stance, or religious differences are irrelevant because to love is to be human, and that is something we all share. What we all need to give in this difficult time. They cannot and will not divide us; they will not take what belongs to us. We have the power to make a difference; to create a future where corruption and distrust are no longer a factor; something we have to accept as innevitable.

I love my city and all of its amazing people. The choice is ours to make, and we choose love.
