The last-minute withdrawal of the proposed strike has caused deep disappointment and anguish among a large number of members. Employees had mentally, professionally and personally prepared for the agitation. Many of us worked tirelessly to complete pending customer work in advance so that the strike could be effective.

In these circumstances, we seek a clear and transparent explanation on the following points:

1. What were the specific reasons and assurances that led to the withdrawal of the strike at the eleventh hour?

2. Have any of our charter of demands been accepted in writing? If yes, kindly share the details.

3. What is the present status of the proposed indefinite strike and other future agitational programmes?

4. What concrete action plan, timelines and milestones has the leadership decided upon if the demands remain unresolved?

5. How does the leadership propose to restore the confidence of members who feel demoralized by this sudden decision?

The repeated uncertainty surrounding industrial action has created serious doubts among the rank and file regarding the direction and intent of our movement. Members deserve transparency, accountability and a clearly defined roadmap for the future.

We therefore request the leadership to issue a detailed clarification on or before 06 October 2026. If no satisfactory reply, supported by a credible action plan with definite timelines, is received by that date, we shall consider that the leadership has failed to retain the confidence of its members. In such a situation, we will be constrained to tender our mass resignation from the union on 07 October 2026.

We sincerely hope the leadership will address these concerns promptly and restore the confidence of the membership.
