City Council Ignores You Again
Almost two years ago, I began this effort to fully remove all permanent AI-style surveillance cameras from Bartlesville roadways.
In the many months since and despite mounting evidence everything I and others said was true, calls from citizens to remove this infrastructure have been completely ignored. If anything, the council has only grown more arrogant and entrenched on the subject.
They (and the cameras) must be removed.
One council member told me no fewer than five times, “I am completely done with Flock—completely done with Flock.”
Monday night, that same council member and two others voted not only to extend the Flock contract, but to add a second surveillance vendor with an even longer contract.
It is with that context that I have decided to run for City Council in Ward 3—to replace at least one of the men who keep giving us more surveillance. I am compelled to do more than just talk about this.
