Today I'm putting together a timeline of the gas leak. Currently my information shows that a crew from LA was already digging by 2pm on Friday. With everything that is going on down there, I can't imagine that they could have driven here in less than four hours. This makes the time that management in LA at MCM was aware of a dangerous problem by at least 10:00am if not sooner. What I'm not sure about is how long the residents at the leak site were having problems before making the call. I do know that the office was locked and unoccupied between Tuesday and Friday, leading me to believe that the call was made to the answering service before being transferred to MCM. Though I have not confirmed that with the space involved.
What I would like to know from residents, those who commented on social media posts, etc. is when did you realize the gas was off? For me it was around 7pm when I thought my stove was broken. I was not the only one who ripped an appliance apart that evening.
When we're you made aware that it was indeed a problem with the gas supply to the park and not an isolated incident in one home?
Were you ever contacted by any staff? When and how did you find out that the work was being done? Were you ever told conflicting information? For example, I was told that Vic had turned the gas meters back on sometime between noon and 2:30pm on Saturday. In reality members of the crew showed up to turn it on between 3:45pm and 4:15pm. The crew was surprised to find that ours was already back on. Since I'd been told Vic had turned on the meters, my neighbor helped me to get it back on, thinking perhaps Vic had skipped us, and to relight the pilot light on the hot water heater.
