Lawyers for Washing DC based Safari International (SCI) have warned the state of California not to ban the importation of hunting trophies.

The trophies include: elephant, leopard, lion, black rhino and white rhino, giraffe, duiker, zebra, hippo, baboon, hyena and according you this article pangolin.

The pro-hunting groups cited the WWF 1997 hunting quota manual which apparently states that the quota is set to identify the number of animals that can be killed without reducing the population.

The California Bill is strongly supported by animal rights groups including those from the SADC regions.
