Hell everyone,
I just wanted to send out a huge thank you to all of you. Every year I have watched many thousands of people, companies, the medical fields the list is long. Coming together to raise awareness about grief and the grieving.
This years focus will be the petition we have on Change.org
We our needing 1 Million signatures to send the President to declare this day August 30th of every year to be a legal day of education and awareness day.
This day is not a holiday.
This day is about Changing the Language around grief and the grieving. To change the way we speak to our grieving.
This day is about raising awareness on how we act and respond to those who grieve.
We do not have to live in "Silent Grief" anymore.
Silent Grief is deadly grief.
Living to diffrent lives on the outside looking okay.
On the inside completely broken.
Many grievers do not show their pain nor speak about.
Grieving is still treated in many families taboo.
We will continue to raise awareness and educate our society.
By doing these things that I have mentioned and more we will see less depression, isolation, and fear.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Please use the #nationalgriefawarenessday #grieving
Change is already happening and that is wonderful news.
BUT
I ask myself : Am I helping the griever ? Are grieving people being shut down still?
Are grievers being shunned? Do grieving people feel isolated?
My answer : YES
So, lets get started we have some work to do.
With all my love wrapped in hope,
Angie Cartwright
