To everyone that has signed this petition, thank you so much. It's only been one day and we already have 155 signatures. Y'all are AMAZING! Thank you for taking a stand. 

Now for some sad news...

According to the abc13 morning news today, the Pentagon is sending a medical unit (the army's Urban Area Medical Task Force) to Houston. Yesterday, the overall state saw 95 deaths. Houston reported 670 new cases of Covid and 9 new deaths. The youngest life taken due to the virus...6 months old.....Governor Abbott believes that the worst is yet to come and that a Lockdown is possible (even though that's the last thing he wants to do)....

Knowing this, how can we stand by and let them re-open schools? School districts are making plans to re-open, even Houston ISD (the largest school district in the state whose city is one of the "hot spots" in covid cases).

We need to gain more momentum. If you can regularly share the link to the petition on social media, text or email it to friends and family, it would be greatly appreciated it. The more we spread the word, the more we have a fighting chance. If you feel moved, please write to the Governor and the Commissioner of Education or call them (the contact information is on the petition), bother them until they block our numbers!...and then find new numbers (kidding...or am I?).
