Urgent fundraising plea for a legal defense fund for an innocent man.
For almost 3 decades, Billie Jerome Allen has been convicted and sentenced to death for a crime that negative DNA results, negative gasoline results, an alibi witness, and other evidence proves he did not commit! Like all wrongful convictions, this evidence was never presented in Billie's defense. The system clearly got it wrong, and based on the evidence, we are urgently asking for your help in fundraising for a legal defense fund to make things right for Billie and his family.

In December 2024, Billie's death sentence was commuted to life in prison, but for Billie, who is innocent, it became a prolonged death sentence that no innocent person should have to endure. Billie Allen should not have to spend one more day in prison for a crime that he didn't commit!
As if this wasn’t bad enough, calls have been made to send anyone whose death sentence has been commuted to life to be sent to Florence, Colorado's ADX, maximum security prison. Florence ADX is the only remaining "supermax" prison in the United States that's reserved for "the worst of the worst" with conditions that echo the same. It's not only unfair to send an innocent man to such a place, but it would prevent Billie from receiving the medical treatment he needs for his anemia, further limit Billie's communication by only affording him 45 minutes a month on the phone, and relocate him over 1,000 miles from family and friends who have been supporting him and helping to highlight his innocence.
The $30,000 we are raising is crucial as we continue our efforts to prove Billie’s innocence. Help Billie, his family, and his supporters, reach our goal for a legal defense fund to free an innocent man, Billie Jerome Allen, once and for all.
