Hello Everyone,

The Association of American Medical Colleges (aamc.org) posted on their site an all 50-states survey in regards to licensing.

In my opinion and to my understanding of the survey.

The temporary license is for mental health professionals who works under an organization that will continue to provide supervision to individuals who are not licensed while using Telehealth services until the state of emergency is lifted. This is a provision.

I believe in order to use Telehealth services the person must be licensed and has to complete a certification course in telemental health. This is a sign of temporary licensing and a new provision.

If licensed it allows for the practitioner to work with clients or patients out of state which is an exception due to the current state of emergency. The license person will need to work under their scope of expertise and have good standings.  This is also a provision.

Some of the language that I read was restrictive in a sense that it did not specify or identify Social Worker’s, Marriage & Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselors or psychologist or acknowledge US. Which is causing the confusion of who can receive temporary licensers.

Are government entities forgetting that we exist?  I noticed some states has no mention of telemental health services which is alarming and can be very dangerous to the underserved population.

Please if you see this is happening contact your mayors office to advocate for the unjust act. This isn’t about color or divide this is about a race to save humanities mental health state. 

Pennsylvania was the only state that I read that identified US by title. Thank you for caring.
