Dear Supporters, Right now I’m boarding a flight to New York with my petition. This is is where leaders around the world - including Iran’s President Rouhani - are convening for the United Nations General Assembly meeting. Last week I met with the Foreign Office about my sister, who is a British Iranian and has been imprisoned in Iran without charge for 85 days. Today they met with Iranian authorities and the Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond released this statement: "I also raised the UK’s continuing concerns about Iran’s approach to human rights, in particular the treatment of a number of British-Iranian dual nationals detained in Iran, including Ghoncheh Ghavami." While leaders around the world are in a room with the one person who can help my sister, I need the public to continue adding pressure and ensure that Ghoncheh’s situation is highlighted and that leaders urge President Rouhani to free my sister.
