Friends, Things were looking hopeful after the last City Council Briefing: City Staff had recommended allocating $8M to the Columbia/Abrams project as a "City-Wide District Participation Project". Sadly, in the most recent draft of the Bond Proposal, this category of project was completely eliminated, including Columbia/Abrams, but there is still hope, as it can be funded as part of the District-Funded Projects. Competition for these funds is tight so it's time to make your voice heard! What you can do: Please send a personal email to your Council Member as soon as possible requesting that the Columbia/Abrams Complete Streets Project be funded as part of the 2017 Bond Program. Including a personal anecdote of how this would benefit the neighborhood would be helpful as well. Contact information for the relevant council districts is below.
