Westminster Hall Debate - an update

Good morning,
As you remember, our immediately previous post was about the Westminster Hall debate on 4th September. We have been in touch with the original petition poster and they’ve let us know that if you do not want to contact your MP with your PIP story for any reason, you can pass it onto them instead via pipprocess@itslawesome.co.uk. You can also follow Keely on their disability advocacy channels on Tiktok as @i_am_lawesome and Twitter as @i_am_Lawesome. Please support Keely by telling your stories ahead of the debate and asking MPs to attend and speak.
If you are in Scotland, you might be aware that a Core Participant at the Scottish Covid Inquiry - the Scottish Healthcare Workers Coalition - released a letter addressed to Scottish Government Ministers, Advisors and Health Boards criticising the end of masking in Scottish Health and Social Care settings.
You can read this letter here via Covid Action Scotland, who have hosted this for them. You can also follow the group on Twitter as @ScotHWCoalition.
I know many of you don’t support masks, however vulnerable patients have to be protected and we are concerned about staff contracting Covid who might then go on to develop Long Covid. There aren’t any new measures in terms of ventilation or air purification in Scotland, plus health and social care staff weren’t entitled to the Spring Covid vaccination booster. Whether or not you agree, the letter has caused some waves in Scottish press and on social media and it is worth a read. We do consider that it’s a health and safety issue in relation to trying to prevent Keyworkers contracting any disease that may leave them with long term issues. Our brilliant Brenda spoke to a regional news team yesterday and was fantastic.
