Next steps needed now
Hello neighbors ~
It is possible for the town council to approve the plan to increase traffic at the meeting on June 6th - so we need to demonstrate public concern.
Phone calls are best and need to be made now. Council member phone numbers are located on this page. Links to council member information is below. Tell them why Lucas Lane should not be open for cars. They have made exceptions to the ordinance in the past, and we have a strong case for an exception based on the goals in the Carrboro Connects Comprehensive Plan. The Lucas Lane connection wouldn't take cars anywhere useful (unlike connections that might take you to downtown Carrboro), doesn't improve traffic, and makes our neighborhood more dangerous, noisy, and polluted. This is not about separating neighborhoods - it is about increasing community not cars.
