Petition updateCollege of the Holy Cross: Rescind Honorary Degree Given to Justice Clarence ThomasWe're supposed to take Ginni Thomas's word for it

Once again, the issue becomes clear: we are simply supposed to take on faith that there was no communication between Ginni Thomas and her husband, Justice Clarence Thomas, regarding her activities to overturn the 2020 presidential election--which she still regards as fraudulent--and thus no conflict of interest for him in ruling on an issue that came before the SCOTUS that involved records that could have contained information about her activities. (He was the lone dissenting vote, arguing that the records should could not be compelled to be released.)

While it is indeed astonishing that Ginni Thomas and her lawyer describe actions such as texting the White House Chief of Staff and several state election officials asking them to "stop the steal" and put forward alternate slates of electors as "minimal and mainstream," what's even more astonishing for the purposes of this petition is Justice Thomas's utter disregard for his professional, ethical obligation to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest in the mind of a reasonable person, the standard to which most federal judges are held.

Please continue to share this petition and call on the College of the Holy Cross to rescind Justice Thomas's honorary degree.
