The response has been overwhelming, and a few points keep coming up that are worth clearing up.

This is not a farm. It's a premium holiday let business, a house and cottage let commercially, recently on the market at £2.25m. The Planning Inspector who dismissed a housing appeal on this same field last year wrote that the farm "does not appear to have remained in agricultural use". No livestock graze it. Nobody is trying to stop a farmer earning a living.
It's not 28 days. It's 42 days this year, and the rule permits up to 60 days every year, indefinitely.

It's not about a view. There is no mains sewage here. One portable toilet is proposed for up to 50 pitches, on ground draining towards Windermere.
It's not remote. This is the edge of Bowness, with houses on almost every side of the field.

We're not against camping. There are licensed, well-run sites minutes away. We're against a rule that allows commercial camping with no assessment at all, in a conservation area beside a Grade II listed building, where a housing scheme and a holiday pod scheme were both refused after full scrutiny.
