10,000 Signatures: Going Forward

I never anticipated that this petition would go as far as it did. We've surpassed 10,000 signatures (well over the population of Clay County) and well on our way to reaching the 12,000 mark. I'm very proud of the overwhelming support that we've received, and I hope we'll continue to see more people voicing their steadfast opposition to sort of hate that undermines our constitutional values. That all aside, the fight is far from over and it's important that we continue to vocalize our firm position on this issue. I myself have recently contacted a reporter from WSAZ who had written a story a while back on the Robert Belt incident, hoping to get our petition out there among a more local audience and making local officials aware of our stance. Unfortunately, I received no response, though I was able to appear on a LGBT Weekly News with Bruce Tedder, a native of Clay County. His video is linked below, if you'd like to check it out, and if you enjoy it I'd implore you to leave a like and subscribe to support his show. This is an issue that I know is important to many of your out there. While Bruce and I are doing what we can to continue addressing it, we simply can't do it alone. To that end, I implore you to help us keep this issue alive by making your opinion known. Write a letter or email, or to make a phone call to a Clay County official letting them know how you feel about this. If you'd like to go a step further, perhaps consider starting a local petition, attend a local government meeting to address your concerns, or get in contact with local media. Do what you can to get your voice out there, and we will be heard! Thank you.
