NAPSA statement: NAPSA (North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance) does not endorse the decision to move the Chimps Inc. chimpanzees to ACCI. By definition, reputable sanctuaries put the interests of their animal residents as the top priority. ACCI’s primary mission appears to be gaining scientific knowledge from the apes through experimental behavioral and cognitive research and intends to breed the bonobos currently in their care. NAPSA has seen no guarantee that the Chimps Inc. chimps would not also be subjected to ACCI protocol. Sanctuary chimpanzees should not be returned to research. 

Chimps Inc. has not responded to NAPSA on their position statement.

Please continue your amazing support by writing to Chimps Inc. asking them to keep the chimpanzees at their home in Bend, Oregon.  Not only the public, but NAPSA sees this as the chimpanzees best interest.  Contact chimps-inc.org
