We have hit 100,000 signatures, so today I emailed the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, reporting CAMHS for their rejection of my son and their many failures of hundreds of other children here in the UK.

See letter below for transparency with name and age of my son redacted for his protection:

To whomever it may concern,

My name is Emma Dalmayne, my __ year old autistic son _______ was urgently referred to CAMHS by his paediatrician as he is depressed and having suicidal thoughts.

CAMHS replied stating that though they agree ________ has emotional difficulties, they feel however that Mental Health Services Is not the most appropriate service to meet his needs as he has a diagnosis of ASD.

They then refused to treat him and referred him on to Children with  Disabilities Team. 

So no psychiatric help whatsoever for him from them due to him being autistic, it's not good enough.

This is a widespread problem that many parents are experiencing when their autistic children and teens are referred to CAMHS. 

Autistic people are seven to nine times more likely to take their own lives due to mental health issues. My son will not end up adding to those statistics. 

I have made a petition highlighting this nationwide failure by CAMHS and it's just hit 100,000. There are hundreds of comments on it from parents, please see here ( link for petition).

Please look into this immediately, CAMHS are also going against their own eligibility criteria. 

I have attached the referral letter from the paediatricians and the rejection letter from CAMHS.
