Reform can only happen if you VOTE

Nothing has changed since the public requested answers from the Board of Health through our petition over one year ago. In fact, since then, the same Board of Health that gifted Dr Arra over $600,000 of our tax dollars for the first year of covid snubbed their noses at the outraged Grey Bruce public and DID IT AGAIN this year. The Medical Officer of Health of Grey Bruce has, for the second year in a row, had his salary doubled. For context, the good folks of Alberta are outraged that Dr Hinshaw, who oversees the entire province and several health units, received a one-time bonus of $228,000. By comparison, our Dr Arra has received that and more TWO YEARS IN A ROW and he oversees A SINGLE HEALTH UNIT. So the money is a problem. And the Board of Health is a big problem and unfortunately our health unit itself is a soul-wrenching problem. Staff have left in droves. Portfolios and programs are left moldering and forgotten. Bullying and irrational behaviour is rampant. No one is helming this ship and yet someone is being paid, over-paid, to assert that they are running it. 

What is left to us now is to VOTE. It will not guarantee that things will change but, for what it's worth, this is the list of Board members who voted for Arra's bonuses year after year. Vote them out:
