Proof of what I have been saying all along about my mothers home which my daughters live in that is unfit, unhealthy, and a fire hazard as well. Yet they have their is 7 checks that come into her home. Claudia gets SSI, John gets SSI, Jeff gets SSI & SSD, Maya Survivor Benefit monthly check, Maya's Life Insurance money that comes every two weeks from her fathers death. It all adds up to close to 5 grand a month. She has even applied for HEAP and FOOD STAMPS. Shania get maybe $25 to $30 in child support whenever he father feels like paying it, Crystal & Claudia going after Crystal's father Jaime Kelley for child support when she is 23 years of age. And able and capable of getting a job. She was getting SSI but it was stopped and they owe 9 thousand dollars back to SSI. She has been fighting to try to get it back. My mother when she first seen my home before I had moved in and when they was helping me move in, she wanted me to help her get a new mobile home through a mobile home dealers and they told her since I do not live in her household or in her home that I could not help with my credit. She filled out papers at a few places with her information and her husband (John) they was denied due to their credit was bad. In May, the Chenango County Department of Planning and Development, on behalf of Opportunities for Chenango (OFC), accepted an award earmarked for low-income residents who need to make critical repairs to their mobile home but can’t due to financial hardships. The $400,000 grant comes by way of the Office of Housing and Community Renewal, a state-run agency that oversees development programs in the area of housing restoration and preservation. Those funds were recently leveraged by an additional $400,000 awarded to OFC through the NYS Community Development Block Grant program. It’s welcome news considering the high number of residents in Chenango County living in mobile homes, explained Karen Glasbergen, Housing Director for OFC.
