Thanks again for backing this petition, numbers are still climbing but please keep sharing as 2,000 now looks achievable and we will take the numbers and comments to a meeting with Minister Bill Malarkey next week. IoM Police have announced they are trialling body cams and they are asking for public comment. We understand some people will have concerns re civil liberties, confidentiality, data protection etc. However, on the other side of the debate, these cameras have been trialled elsewhere specifically for domestic violence call outs, and the results were very beneficial to victims, aided understanding of abuse, identified coercive control and improved convictions and sentencing. Link below is to the Panorama program on the trial of these cameras on the Isle of Wight, which is well worth viewing. Please take the time to do the Constabulary's quick 5 question survey (link is on our Safe Strong Secure Facebook Page, IOM News and Politics Page and Isle of Man Constabulary media page. If you share our belief that specifically for domestic violence these camera's can help, please add that comment at the 2 points in the survey where you are able to make "other" comments. Thank you.
