This week, the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation President, and separately a group of parents who support accelerated education for all, wrote a letter to NYC Schools Chancellor Carranza requesting that he obey the state law and hold the SHSAT this year. It was feared that the Chancellor, who is no fan of the SHSAT, would use the pandemic as an excuse to cancel it. The Department of Education responded immediately and said they would give the exam but later than the scheduled November 7th date. DOE must be held to this commitment.
