Carl Drew needs your help!

Clemency is an act of mercy resulting in a reduction of or forgiveness for the convicted individual’s sentence. It is often granted after all legal appeals have been exhausted. In some cases, it can be a way to acknowledge factors such as mitigating circumstances, potential wrong convictions, or official misconduct. Carl’s legal team is in the process of putting together a Clemency package on his behalf.

What can you do to help?

Many of you have reached out asking what can be done to help Carl. What can be done to bring attention to the injustices that have befallen Carl Drew? Public support can play a vital role in a clemency petition. We need to show significant support for Carl in the community. 

 Now is the time to make our voices heard!

We are requesting letters from Carl's friends, family, and supporters as part of this process. If you believe in Carl's Innocence and would like to take part in our efforts to help Carl Drew regain his freedom, please consider writing a letter in support of granting Carl clemency.  

For those who know Carl, some things to consider writing about could be describing how you know him, a couple of detailed anecdotes that demonstrate Carl’s personality, and his good qualities. A description of support you can offer once he gets out, which could be as simple as your friendship.

For those who do not know or have not personally interacted with Carl, we want to hear from you as well! We are seeking letters from individuals who genuinely believe in Carl's innocence and wish to see him regain his freedom.

All letters should be addressed to the Governor's Executive Council and the Advisory Board of Pardons.
