Thank you all for signing this petition!  We're overwhelmed by the community response to keeping our neighborhood safe from the recidivist harasser in our neighborhood, Mallik Miah.

Case Update:

Currently he has 2 open criminal cases for public lewdness and unwanted sexual conduct. He is not being held in custody between court dates due to our no-cash bail system. At his last court appearance (9/12) the judge ordered a Stayed Warrant, which means Mr Miah is free unless he breaks the conditions of the warrant order. His next court appearance is 9/30 for both cases. If we do not report (call the detective working this case) his continued harassment, then the ADA will not have the evidence needed for a good outcome at trial.

Here's how you can help:

• If you have been harassed by this man or know someone who has, please encourage them to email the ADA, Erik Rosenbaum at ecrosenbaum@queensda.org. The DA needs as many witness accounts in order to prosecute effectively. 
• A group of women are also attending the Community Board meeting tonight at 6pm at Astoria World Manor (now The Lion) to ensure our board has this public safety issue on their radar. Please consider attending with us, because the more who show up, the more likely we are to be taken seriously.
