Dear friends:
It is time to issue our own CLIMATE CHANGE MAJOR DISASTER DECLARATIONS.
We can increase the pressure to sway public officials to do the right thing and put Climate Change Action at the forefront of urgent policies by publicly issuing our own CLIMATE CHANGE MAJOR DISASTER DECLARATIONS.
Make the DECLARATION anywhere where other people will see it. You can do it in social media, in your website, in a newspaper letter to the editor or press release, on the radio, on TV, etc. You can issue your DECLARATION as an individual and organizations you belong to can do the same.
Let's grow a huge wave of awareness so the reality of Climate Change is in everybody's mind.
Ignorance and apathy regarding Climate Change is tremendously jeopardizing the future of life, civilization and the environment.
Here in California (The 6th wealthiest economy in the world) we recently had an event caused by the atmospheric rivers fueled by Climate Change and by the apathy to make the adaptations to deal with those Climate Change disasters, that could have killed 200,000 Californians and destroy thousands of acres, including several towns and cities. Overwhelmed by the volume of water accumulated behind the Oroville Dam, the main spillway and the secondary spillway almost collapsed, what would have created a 20 foot wall of water rushing over Northern California.
DECLARE CLIMATE CHANGE A MAJOR DISASTER everywhere.
Thank you for your support,
Jorge
P.S. I have attached a link to an article reporting that soon an Antarctica ice mass will break off the Larsen C ice shelf on the Antarctic Peninsula, producing an almost 2,000 square miles iceberg, which is about the surface area of the State of Delaware.
