Anmore Petition against BC Hydro - MNT Project now on hold

Over the past year, BC Hydro reviewed the Metro North Transmission Project. Their review confirmed that demand in this part of the Lower Mainland hasn't grown as expected. As a result, the project isn't needed by 2022, as previously planned.

BC Hydro has put the project now on hold while they analyze a new electricity demand forecast, updating us early next year.

Our MLA Rick Glumac spoke out against BC Hydro’s contracts with independent power producers long before he was elected: "Even back in 2008 and 2009, it was clear these contracts were economically and environmentally irresponsible".
