Just to show how ridiculous and UNECONOMICAL it is to move from firming with coal fired power stations to a high percentage of solar and wind powered generation and no Coal firming.
From the AEMO dashboard 22/5/23 12.30pm. Queensland with Coal powered firming -$2 (MWh). Compared with South Australia with Renewable power only no Coal firming $276 (MWh). 25mins later SA has dropped back to $140 (MWh), but Queensland remains on -$2.
this is a crazy way to power a modern Country, it’s like the prices are being set by a poker machine.
All manufacturing, all Industry, all public and private facilities and homes use electricity and if they can’t afford to pay the electricity bill, they will close or the electricity will be cut off. A financially created blackout, that many businesses and homes are experiencing already.
IT IS VITAL TO BE A VIBRANDT, PROSPOROUS COUNTRY THAT THERE IS AVAILABLE A RELIABLE, LOW COST, BASELOAD SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK. ANYTHING ELSE IS WILL END IN DISASTER.

IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT NO CLOSED COAL FIRED POWER STATION BE DEMOLISHED AS THEY CERTAINLY WILL BE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE.
