Hi everyone,
When I started this petition, it was rooted in lived experience, loss, and the urgent need to better protect victims of intimate partner violence and coercive control.
Today, that call is reflected in Bill C-16, introduced by Minister Sean Fraser, which seeks to strengthen protections for victims and close dangerous gaps in our justice system.
Our petition aligns with the spirit and purpose of Bill C-16;
To take victim safety seriously, to recognize coercive control and escalating patterns of abuse, and to ensure the law responds before violence turns fatal.
This bill represents progress… but progress only happens when people demand it. Every signature, every share, every message has helped push this issue forward and made it impossible to dismiss survivors voices.
We are not done yet.
Please continue to share this petition, talk about Bill C-16, and hold decision-makers accountable to pass legislation that truly protects victims and honours those we’ve lost.
