I'm not going to use my own words here. I'm going to use the words of Ron Wetzell in Minneapolis, MN who made this comment when he signed the petition: "When Bernie first got into this Campaign, he said that he would abide by the Democratic Nomination. That, however, (one would assume) was based on his sense that he would be given approximately a level playing field. As we all know, that has not been the case and is unlikely to change. An essential argument Bernie puts forth is that it is too late for Establishment Politics. Many of us agree. Certainly we have to see this through the Nomination. I would be close to betting the house, however, that The Establishment is not going to let that happen. Never before has the ground been so fertile for an independent run. Independents comprise 43% of the electorate; Democrats comprise 30% and Republicans consist of 26%. This recommendation for an independent run is not based on the assumption that all independents would agree and support Sanders. It is based, though, on the sense that those who are not blinded by ideological fervor and are fair minded do and will support Bernie all the way. He is the best leader who has come our way since Martin and the Kennedys. Bernie is the candidate of a life time; he has the position on the issues; he has the people; he has the money. Now that we have stood up, we need to finish what we started." Let's finish what we started. Please share this petition so that, in June after the last primary, Bernie has heard from all of us!
