Today the Bank of Canada announced it is seeking public input on bank notes "Design Principles" - which unfortunately don't include gender equality. Why is it so hard for the Bank of Canada to commit to including women from Canadian history on our bank notes? We're encouraged that the Bank is inviting public input through an online survey open to all Canadians, and showing some willingness to be more transparent about the process for selecting, developing and designing the visual content for our notes. The Bank also indicates it will be consulting with Canadians about whether or not the "portrait subjects" (ie. former prime ministers Laurier, Macdonald, King and Borden, the Queen) should change. Please be sure to check out the Bank of Canada's evaluation of its performance on the polymers (overly positive I think), and convey your views through the online survey. http://www.bankofcanada.ca/2014/10/bank-canada-invites-canadians-comment/
