In two days; July 24th, the manufacturers of Breast Implants will respond to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) proposed cancelling, suspending and recalling of 31 models of textured implants and tissue expanders after strong evidence revealed that they were linked to a cancer called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL).

The proposed ban according to the ABC would block access to 45 percent of the breast implants that are currently on the market and being implanted into women.

Recent figures reveal that five women in Australia and New Zealand have died of breast implant-associated (BIA) ALCL Cancer and the 107 Australian women have been diagnosed with BIA ALCL Cancer.

Since the TGA’s announcement, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons has requested a meeting with Health Minister Greg Hunt to oppose the ban, while international regulators have questioned the TGA’s proposed ban and will be discussing their concerns with the TGA this week.

In addition to ALCL tens of thousands of women worldwide also claim that their breast implants are causing them horrific pain, fatigue and other symptoms including hair loss, dry eyes, brain fog, memory loss, headaches. A condition that is now referred to as Breast Implant Illness. So far the TGA and Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons have blatantly ignored the link between breast implants and these symptoms.

Although, it is not an official diagnosis leading surgeons in the United Kingdom are now calling for all women and transgender women considering breast implants to be warned about the risks of breast implant illness.

Last night the BBC aired a special on Breast Implant Illness. We encourage everyone to watch and share this program with anyone who has or is considering breast implants.

Once again our respect and gratitude to everyone who has signed and shared this petition.
