Thank you for supporting this INDEPENDENT Integrity Commission Bill - which is about ensuring Australians get the  REPRESENTATION we deserve in our Parliament and has NOTHING to do with PARTISAN Party Politics!

INTEGRITY is not about political affiliation - although political parties LIKE to make it so..

The Australian PEOPLE must get to decide WHO runs our COUNTRY not Corporations and THEIR Lobbying Organisations which by DONATIONS, POWER & MONEY influence us - and our Politicians to make POLICIES that disadvantage us -  which WE, the Australian PEOPLE have to live WITH!

Yet MANY Corporate owners & Corporate Board members PROFITING from Australians AND our RESOURCES do NOT live in Australia - nor do a significant number of Corporates' PROFITS get taxed in Australia - as many flow to overseas Tax Havens.

This is certainly NOT a new issue - it has been going on for centuries - but certainly not as sophisticated as today when Corporate Executives don't even have to set foot in our country to INFLUENCE our Government's decisions.

But not only do Corporations influence our politicians by DONATIONS they also FUND advocacy GROUPS to further LOBBY and even THREATEN our Governments - such as the Business Council and the Minerals Council to name but two. 

A prime example of this was the Resource Super Profits Resources Tax which was going to be introduced by Rudd's Labor Government.  This was to finance services NEEDED by Australians - our Schools, Universities, Health systems, Aged care.  

It was about taxing SUPER mining PROFITS..

But what happened?

When the mining industry couldn't get its way by LOBBYING - the Minerals Council (basically the Mining Industry's UNION - don't believe ANYONE who TELLS you industry BOSSES don't have ORGANISED influence that THEY'VE ensured everyday workers NO LONGER have!) used OUR money as a tax-deduction to play PROPAGANDA on our Televisions EVERY night TELLING us that our jobs and every Australian's way of life was at risk!

Thanks to the Minerals Council's propaganda -  Australians baulked -  Kevin Rudd was dumped as PM and Australia lost its opportunity for a Sovereign Wealth Fund such as Norway and Qatar have.

The Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) made and over-whelmed us with these 'ads' - but let's just look at how AUSTRALIAN the Minerals Council REALLY is!

Out of 53 FULL members - 23 are NOT Australian Companies including some of the WORLD'S largest - Rio Tinto (only 15% Australian Owned), Albermarle (USA), Anglo American (UK), Anglo Gold Ashanti (South African), Cameco (Canada), Glencore (Anglo Swiss), Heathgate Resources (owned by General Atomic USA), Newmont (USA). 

Don't be confused by their fuzzy Australian web-sites - these are multinationals who care NOUGHT about Australians!

So using their WEALTH and propaganda to ensure that this Tax would NEVER be added to the resources THEY sell that BELONG to Australians and our CHILDREN - they slammed Australians with propaganda - making us anxious and worried about our JOBS and our future

So then Julia Rudd NEGOTIATED with the Miners and we got the MRRT - which was structured BY the industry to ensure the Mining Industry paid virtually nothing EXTRA! 

A tax eliminated by the Abbot Government.
