In just 6 days, with a bunch of volunteer time, a lot of found and donated materials, and a few hundred quid, we turned around a Sweets Way house that had been smashed to bits by Annington, the private property developers, to make it unlivable... and converted it into a lovely home again! We feel this is an important proof of concept for the housing movement - even if the details vary from estate to estate, we've shown that even in buildings that have been deliberately destroyed, committed residents with minimal resources can turn them into livable homes again. In other words, there is no need to rely on private developers to 'regenerate' our estates!
