A man has been arrested and charged with nine counts of possessing animals for use in dogfighting, an egregious act of cruelty that demands justice. During the investigation, several dogs were rescued from his home, many of whom bore scars, wounds, and other signs of brutal treatment.
One dog had severe, deep scarring around its neck, while others had injuries on their heads, legs, and bodies. Disturbingly, one dog had worn teeth and several masses on its body.
The authorities also discovered syringes, antibiotics, steroids, and dogfighting paraphernalia at the residence, further evidence of the horrific abuse these animals suffered. The man, now facing trial in the U.S. District Court in Boston, has pleaded not guilty. His trial is set for January.
We cannot allow this individual to escape accountability. These innocent animals endured unimaginable pain and suffering.
