Hi this is Lacey. I was attacked in early July by my son's father, had to be life flighted and receive multiple surgeries bc there was so much internal damage and bleeding caused. While I was in the hospital, for a grand total of 20 days, my parents had been caring for my son and we're unable to file a pfa on his behalf, and I was clearly unable to do so myself. If his father, my attacker, had shown up at my parents house requesting his son my dad would have legally had to hand him over and it could have very well been the last time any of us would ever see him again.
