Oklahoma Department of Corrections issued a press release on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, that body cameras will be used on correctional officers beginning by the end of this month!!  Amanda's Law has been hard at work since 2/2022 to get this in all prisons and county jails in Oklahoma.  There have been many talks with DOC staff, both by phone and in person to get this done.  Amanda's Law was being watched very carefully, as I was approach last summer (2023) at a local rally I held at the Mabel Bassett Correctional Facility for woman in Mcloud, OK.  Amanda Lane was a human, that died for no reason at all and her life should have never been taken.  Many things at this prison changed after her death; staff removed to other facilities and new ones brought in.  DOC is not going to credit Amanda's Law as the reason for the body cams, it would prove error on their side!

Amanda's Law declares this VICTORY, but will still remain in effect, UNTIL ALL OKLAHOMA COUNTY JAILERS ARE WEARING BODY CAMS!!  I will not go away and will stand my ground on what's right for so many!!
