Update: thank you to all of you who went to the meeting in person or wrote an email to our village. It was somewhat of a positive outcome. 

A draft ordinance with strict regulations will be presented during a committee of the whole meeting early next year. The ordinance isn’t drafted yet and will be posted to the village’s website prior to the meeting.

We are hoping the village will not limit parcel sizes to 1 acre or even a half acre. That would rule out many residents from the privilege of owning chickens. This would be the time to voice your opinion on what would be good regulations without ruling out majority of the residents from owning chickens. As we know, majority of the town that allow chickens do not require these large lot sizes.
