We, the fans of historical manga and the legacy of Japan’s rich culture, humbly call for the anime adaptation of one of the most underrated and powerful samurai manga of the 2000s — Shanaou Yoshitsune by Hirofumi Sawada.

This manga tells the epic and tragic tale of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, one of the most legendary figures in Japanese history. With brilliant storytelling, emotional character arcs, and historically rich detail, Shanaou Yoshitsune deserves to stand alongside anime masterpieces like Vinland Saga, Kingdom, and Rurouni Kenshin.

Despite its powerful narrative and award-winning serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine, Shanaou Yoshitsune has never been adapted into anime or translated widely into English. This has left an entire generation of anime lovers unaware of its brilliance.

We believe that:

With the rise of historical seinen and action anime, now is the perfect time to revisit this classic.
