I am not a wildlife photographer. Neither an ornithologist nor a hardcore environmentalist. Just a common person residing in Kharghar. But recently me and my son decided to make our Saturday morning a bit unique. Inspired by some friends, we started early morning before sunrise - armed with a normal camera. The spot: Talawe Wetlands - a little water body just 8 km away situated besides NRI colony in Seawoods. Little did we know what to expect. But, what we found was both mesmerising and devastating! Pictures I post stand proof to why I was mesmerized - and how I like a kid again tiptoed, bent, kneeled to get my pics, much to the delight of my son too who never perhaps saw so many wildlife in one day other than in a zoo. Devastated - that some builders and the town planning authority thinks this place should be converted into a golf course and buildings. How can they have the heart to even think of this? I now hope to develop this into a hobby and would like my son to do so too ... but the question is whether there will be any such place in our neighbourhood left to spend our mornings this beautifully? Wake up citizens!! #savenavimumbaiwetlands #savelaketalawe https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10214181176295815&id=1006345674
