Out of the $6260 raised, we have just over $5000 to go towards the attorney. Baron has had to use the other funds for filing fees to keep this in the courts while awaiting finding an attorney. 

The only attorney to even contact Baron back has a retainer of $8000. He is willing to work with the gofundme, but hasn't given specifics on what he's willing to accept upfront. 

Baron also works nights so sleeps during the day so it's my understanding that it's a phone tag game mostly between him and the potential attorney. Baron has a few reservations about hiring this person only because he doesn't want to go with just the one person (and he IS the ONE person) to say yes. He wants to make sure he doesn't hire another dud and gets someone who has Bentleys best interest in mind. 

Currently we are in a state of limbo where Bentley is safe for now (the city officials are making it clear that the "blowback" from this case will be significant and they want to avoid it at all costs). We are past the deadline, but this is what I mean by in limbo, bentley remains safe for the time being at the shelter, SAFE meaning they aren't proceeding forward with his execution (or as they word it, his euthanasia). 

I realize this is beyond frustrating, it's not right, it's exhausting, but we too are pawns in this very screwed up game they play. We don't know the next move, but what we DO know is Baron MUST get an attorney.

Please also realize I myself work long days (sometimes up to 12/13 hours a day, as my employer is allowing me to leave midday to go and see bentley on the approved days and return to work). I might not get back to you immediately, but I WILL respond as soon as possible, messages are the easiest for me, as I don't always see the comments for some reason. 

Thank you all so much for embarking on the Bentley journey with us. We want to save him and ideally bring him back home to Baron, however Bentley alive is the most important factor in this situation.
