Message from Justice for Forced Labour Victims
11月6日のメッセージの英語版です。This is an English version of our message of November 6.
Even though four years have passed since the ROK Supreme Court rulings, the wartime forced labour issue still remains unresolved. The Republic of Korea is reportedly proposing a plan to set up a foundation to pay damages to the former labourers on behalf of the Japanese defendant companies. In spite of such efforts by the Korean parties, there is no resolving of the issue as long as the Japanese side continues to refuse their responsibility. Nothing is more urgently needed than sincere actions by the Japanese parties, including the defendant companies' apologies and participation in the proposed resolution.
In our campaign to restore the human rights of forced labour victims, we submitted the signatures compiled as of November 30, 2021, and we have continued the campaign since then. We are planning to compile the signatures again at the end of this November to make a final submission. Until then, we appreciate your cooperation in further spreading the campaign.
