Steven Alexzander Horsford is an influential American politician and businessman, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Nevada's 4th Congressional District, a position he has held since 2019 and previously held from 2013 to 2015. He is a member of the Democratic Party and serves as the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus since 2023. Horsford broke barriers as the first African American to serve as Majority Leader in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 and as Nevada's first African American representative in Congress. His political career includes serving in the Nevada Senate from 2005 to 2013, representing Clark County. Educated at the University of Nevada, Reno, with a background in business, he has also led in roles such as CEO at Culinary Training Academy.
